Cora and Robert | Portland Engagement Photography

I got to spend what could have been the last beautiful day of Fall  (Nov. 4th) with Cora and Robert at Cathedral Park in Portland, Oregon.  We were there for their Engagement photo session and it was a gorgeous day in the shadow of one of the most beautiful bridges in the Northwest, St. Johns Bridge.

As proof that opposites attract, Robert is an Oregon Duck and Cora is an Oregon State Beaver.  Civil War will definitely be interesting in their household.  Sorry Cora, but I will be with Robert in rooting for the Ducks in December. I don’t know if you know it but you hired an Oregon grad.  🙂

I am looking forward to their coming wedding on June 26th, 2010 at Lawrence Art Gallery in Portland’s hip and urban Pearl District.  Bring on the summer!

Shyann Aww!! What a great session!! How the heck did he get way up on the bridge like that!!? Awesome couple!

November 12, 2009 - 12:13 pm

admin Shyann thank you, and yes they are an awesome couple! Climbing the bridge just sort of happened unexpectedly – Robert turned to me and said “you want me to climb up there?” Me: “yeah, okay”. And that was that, without hesitation he was on his way up. Cora and I decided to stay put and admire from a distance 🙂

Rian Otto Terrific job, Gina! What lens did you mostly use?

November 12, 2009 - 5:46 pm

admin Rian you are so sweet, thank you! Well let me see, for this session I used three different lenses: canon 24mm f/1.4 L, canon 50mm f/1.4, and canon 70-200mm f/2.8 L. To answer your question, I think I used the 24mm on the first set. At the point where Robert climbs the side of the bridge, I switched to the 70-200mm. Then it’s the 50mm all the way through until the last little collage of images – where I switched back to the 24mm lens.
