Carlota + Dan | Portland Wedding Photography

When Brandon and I were married in 1996, we had a very good friend photograph our wedding.  That photographer was Carlota.   Years later, we had the honor to photograph Carlota and Dan’s wedding.  They live in Denver, but decided  to come back to their beloved Oregon for their wedding day.  It was  a beautiful summer day at her mother’s gorgeous property, a designated wildlife refuge  and home to a number of fruit trees including kiwis, plums, quince, and pears.  Carlota is a dear friend of mine for over 21 years and I’ve known Dan for seven years and he is absolutely a wonderful person all around.   It was an incredible honor to celebrate with them on their wedding day and to photograph the day as it was.

Carlota and Dan, we love you both and are most thankful to have you in our lives.

Joann + Matt | Portland Wedding Photographer

While photographing weddings you get to meet a lot of couples and also have the opportunity to learn something about them.  A few things I learned about Joann and Matt on their wedding day is that they totally love each other, love to laugh, they have many great friends, enjoy music, and they are passionate about their coffee.  A first for me was during the ceremony when Joann and Matt poured their own jars of coffee beans into a single jar to make a new and authentic blend all their own.  A “blend” I believe they will be enjoying for the rest of their lives.  After the ceremony, there was a coffee house inspired theme complete with live music performed by friends and family.  Guests sat on blankets, sipped coffee/wine/juice, and listened to the live music as the sun set behind the beautiful country hills of Sandy, Oregon.  We had a lot of fun that day and I hope that through  the photographs, Joann and Matt will remember the joy, the love, and the beautiful details from their wedding day.
