a bit about me

My name is Gina Emerson and I am a wedding and portrait photographer based in Boise, Idaho. I have always appreciated portraiture, as well as photojournalism. From the early days of my youth, my parents always had National Geographic lined up on their shelves and I remember spending hours browsing those intriguing images of things and places from around the world. The photographs spoke to me and I can now see that with my own children, who would probably tell you National Geographic is their favorite magazine.

To describe my wedding photography style, I would say that it leans heavy toward photojournalism, capturing YOU accurately on your wedding day with all the beautiful details as they unfold. But I also love elegant portraits and believe they are important to balance out your collection of photographs from the day. My approach is personable, non-intrusive, and natural as we work together to capture the uniqueness of you and your loved ones on your wedding day. And for those considering my services for special events or portraits, I bring a similar style and the same passion.

Kristin and Scott’s wedding ceremony took place in Carver, Oregon in a charming historical chapel, The Pioneer Church. On a beautiful sunny afternoon in January, these two said their vows to one another, surrounded by their closest of family and friends. The ceremony was short and sweet. The location of the wedding is significant to the family, as Scott’s great grandfather built the historical Baker’s Cabin that is located on the same grounds as the chapel! DeAnne – My daughter and son-in-law just celebrated their 3rd anniversary – your photographs captured the day so beautifully! They are a wonderful way to ‘revisit’ the family celebration. Great-grandma passed away last year and your photo of her is one of our all-time favorites.

Mount your smaller photographs! Why not?

Last year I fell in love with the look of large mounted photographs. In most cases I recommend that prints 11×14″ or larger be mounted and sprayed. Mounted photographs provide scale and impact with your high quality images mounted onto several different board options. The result is a stunning, minimalist, gallery style product.

So it got me to thinking and I was curious to see how a smaller version of the mounted product looks like. I recently ordered two different 5×5 mounted photographs (one at 1/8″ and one at 3/16″) and one 8×10 at 3/4″. They are beautiful, and a very cool option not only for your larger prints but for your smaller prints as well! Perfect for a mantel, a side table, the office, a gift, or you could combine several of your favorite photos to display on a wall.
